Juliana turned 13 this past week. I did not spend $ at Dave and Busters, repeated adding more and more money on our cards. I wasn't addicted, not me!

For Jules' birthday, I did not buy an ice cream cake from Cold Stone Creamery enough for 30 people for just 5 of us! Nope! I do not LOVE their Mint Chocolate ice cream cake and will not gain 20 pounds over the next few weeks nibbling on it.

That is all I'll admit to... for now.

Not Me! Monday!

It has not been over 7 weeks since my last blog post and almost 5 months since my last Not Me! Monday! post.

There has not been anything for me to confess in those 5 months (I saw those eye rolls!).

I do not still finish food that my daughter leaves in the car after I drop her off at daycare in the morning. Actually it does depend on what it is.

We did not get another dog, saying that it is "Juliana's dog" and therefore her responsibility. I do not get up with the dog in the early hours and laying on the couch so that she will stop barking and not wake everyone else in the house. Sassy, the new dog, is not starting training today that will last for 3 weeks and is $1,300. I am not thankful that Mr. Moorefield is coming to our house to train her every weekday for 3 weeks. (Actually I'm very thankful and excited to try and get some management of the dog going! It's been a rough few weeks.)

I am not melting under this extended, horrible 90+ degree heat in Atlanta and go from AC to AC swearing about the weather. Not me!

I think I will stop there with my confessions! I could go on and on after a 5 month hiatus.

Not Me! Monday!

It's Not Me! Monday!

I did not stay up too late for the past few nights arranging old pictures of my oldest daughter. I do not have to start scanning adorable pics that I don't have electronically. I did not need a digital camera 10 years ago!

I did not get a candy bar to supplement my nonexistent diet every time I went to a store by myself this week. This is not a reoccurring theme. I do not need to bring one of my girls with me every where I go. After all I really do not want to buy them a candy bar, too!

I did not go back to bed on Saturday and Sunday mornings after settling my youngest daughter in front of the television with her milk at 7:30 and stay in bed until 9:30/10:00. I am not thankful we live with my mother who begrudgingly lovingly keeps the girls entertained until I re-surface.

I did not take over the living room with all of the old spring/summer clothes and old toys to sell at Kidsignments next week. I do not have a lot of work to do before drop off this Saturday. I am not looking forward to spending hours at the pre-sale on Monday evening. I do not enjoy looking for great clothes bargains! I do not enjoy spending 3 hours standing in the checkout line with my friend Kelly eating Chik-fil-a and looking in boxes of stuff as we slowly creep towards checkout. Bedding, books, toys, videos, oh my!

Not Me Monday!

Oh, no! It's that time again - actually it's a day early, but I won't have time tomorrow at work. If you want to read more confessions (I hear it's good for you), to to My Charming Kids. Without further ado, here is my Not Me Monday! confession.

I did not eat all but 2 slices of the soda cracker pie made for my birthday - including whipped topping! At least the whipped topping was lite!

I did not also have angel food cake given to me for my birthday. Looks like I won't be eating all that too. Yummy!

I did not put my 4 year old to bed a half an hour early 'cause she was driving me nuts! I can't get away with that with my 11 year old, darn it!

I did not sleep until 10:30 this morning and then take another nap for 2 hours this afternoon while my kids played. I need to make taking vitamins a new years resolution.

I have not walked even a tenth of a mile on my new treadmill that I've had for 3 weeks. I really haven't! Another new years resolution. :-)

Not Me Monday!

Yikes! It's time for Not Me Monday! Honesty and admitting these things is supposed to be good for the soul, right?!

I did not give my 4 year old daughter a sippy cup of milk after lunch and get her to fall asleep so I could have a much needed 2 hour nap. She was being so noisy and pestering me!

I did not cave and let my daughters sleep together last night. It usually would have been a school night, but no school til January 6. I had to keep going upstairs to get them quiet and stop pestering each other but they eventually fell asleep. No more of that!

I did not, yet again, get a candy bar when I went to the drug store by myself -- the king sized Reeses cups no less. I have to stop! I bought a treadmill last week and have yet to get on it. I gained 1.4 pounds in Weight Watchers last week. Shows where those candy bars are going! We are off to Florida in April and this is not helping get ready.

I did not hit my snooze button for an hour this morning 'cause I didn't want to get up!

I did not volunteer our home to be a kennel for my friend's kittens. She fosters cats/kittens until they find a home and she's going to Tennessee for the holidays. These 2-3 kittens will be an addition to our 5 cats and 2 dogs. I LOVE cats/kittens and we can get our fill of kittens and then give them back!

I did not add 4 new blogs to read everyday when I get to work. People amaze and inspire me on a daily basis, including MckMama!

I did not buy a candy bar several times this past week when I was able to go to the store by myself. After all, if the girls were with me, they'd want a candy bar too. Sugar/chocolate isn't good for kids, is it!?

I did not stay up several nights later than I should trying to get our Christmas card done. It turned out super and now I just have to pick them up from Wolf Camera and get them in the mail.



I did not again start thinking about wanting to give birth to a child. I have two absolutely wonderful adopted daughters! I'm not feeling that craving of feeling a life growing inside of me! After all, I'm almost 44! Shesh!

I am not considering getting my fourth tattoo for my 44th birthday at the end of this month. They are addictive!

I think that is enough for this Monday! Have a great week!

Not Me Monday!

Can't believe it's Monday again! Not Me Monday's have changed my day!

I did not drag my daughters all over Atlanta on Sunday doing returns and exchanges. Well, I did have to get the 2 ceiling fans credited to my credit card, get Ginny's haircut, get a new remote control for the TV, see if the public library had Ginny's school book and pick up the dog's medicine. We were gone all afternoon! Whew!

I did not get all of the Christmas decorations up over the weekend like I promised. Almost done, but not quite. I love Tinsel on the tree and it is done!

I did not run back to bed Saturday morning at 8:00 am after I got my 4 year old settled in front of the TV and leave her to my mom while I slept another 2 hours. I did remember to thank my mom!

I did not covet the beautiful family that I met this weekend through my daughter. She went to the Children's Healthcare parade and then spent the night Saturday with her new friend Nia. Her family is beautiful. Her mom, Bonnie, and husband, Rene, are foster parents. She spent an hour with me on Sunday telling me about their many former blessings and current ones. Beautiful family!

On another more important note, please pray for Ashley Adams as she is battling another illness. The poor little girl; her mom and family are so tired and worried.

I love Mondays because of MckMama!

I did not eat too much for Thanksgiving... and again on Thanksgiving night.

I did not spend too much money when I took the girls to IKEA on Friday. I did return $250 of it the next day though! I REALLY wanted that new comforter. :-(

I did not already overspend on my Christmas budget after only two shopping trips. Guess I need to look at what I bought versus my list.


I did not let Juliana pick out her own Nintendo DS game for Christmas, buy it, and then tell her she can have it in 24 days. Torture for an 11 year old.

I did not have Ginny with me when I returned one of the two baby dolls I bought, and when she saw it and got upset, I did not tell her that I was returning it because Santa was going to be bringing her one just like her friend, Sophia's babydoll.

One of my favorite blogs My Charming Kids recently had a posting about what she did NOT do. What fun that post was! I replied....

When I was finally by myself in the car...
I DID NOT reach into the back seat and grab my four year old's half eaten cookie and then eat it.
And then I DID NOT reach back there again and grab the half eaten bag of Cracker Jacks and finish that off too.
She didn't even realize they were gone. :-)

MckMama said that she is going to make it a weekly posting of what she recently did NOT do during the week. I think that is a fabulous idea! Very fun!
